Uberto Gasche

Uberto Gasche was born in May 1951 in Alexandria (Egypt) and has lived in Italy since 1962, currently in the Lazio countryside.

He moved from painting to experimental photography, focusing on human and animal portraits. Gasche has published 3 books: Villa Savoia 1988, Uberto Gasche 1999, Storie di un tempio 2020.

Gasche´s portraiture takes great inspiration from archaeology and ancient art.

Both his work with women, as well as his work with animals such as mastiffs and greyhounds, horses, jaguars, and cheetah show a mystical aura due to the particular attention paid to poses, settings and the printing technique, with a preference for sepia tone. Special research is dedicated to the paper selection.
