Marcelo Bailat

Marcelo Eduardo Bailat was born in Buenos Aires in 1959. He began photographic training in 1984 at FotoClub Buenos Aires, then complementing his studies with extension and visual expression courses with outstanding teachers such as Juan Carlos Marano, Carlos W Aramayo and Carlos Lippai.

During those years he also took courses as “Arte Siglo XX” (CAYC – Centro de Arte y Comunicación – López Anaya), “Etapas Poesía Contemporánea” (CAYC – Centro de Arte y Comunicación – Osvaldo Svanascini), “Mitos, Símbolos e Imágenes Fantásticas en la Pintura Europea de Bosco a Goya” (MNBA – Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes – Balza), among others.

Throughout his career he has developed a diverse production that covers artistic, testimonial, travel, street and nature photography, both in black and white and color. His work has been recognized in national and international salons, obtaining the title AAF Photographer awarded by the Argentine Federation of Photography. In 1988 he received the Silver Medal Mention in the XIV National Photography Salon for his work The Funeral of Apartheid, exhibited at the Palais de Glace and included in the official catalog.

During the last years he has especially deepened his link with nature photography, transforming it into a personal and artistic commitment to spread the beauty of the environment and the fragility of the ecosystems.
